If Scott wasn't already having a problem, this would have started a new one. He was in the middle of important paperwork that just couldn’t wait and now he was being forced to watch out for two vigilantes that did nothing but cause minimal chaos in spite of the hero organization. Having to do what the alert said would just make things worse for him, atlas, he definitely didn't want to have a run in with a vigilante like Slime had a streak of robbing banks and other shops. Scott didn't want to be next.

Hell wasn't great. That was the simplest way to put it, and 4c swore that his head felt foggy in places and he wasn't all there most of the time.
Nom tries to help him win a couple games of farkle. The games he needs to get parts of his soul back, and despite the crushing weight of that expectation sitting on his shoulders he tries.
He definitely shouldn't try, though.
When Nom starts to tell him to roll again or play it safe, all he could think about is having to verse a fucked-up gods puppet version of his best friend back in hell.
