Summary
A reworking of The Long Game. This tells various stories that occur during that 1st, 2nd, & 3rd year when Shane is still a Voyager and Ilya a Centaur, finally when Shane becomes a Centaur himself.

Summary
He had stood at the frosted window of his childhood home in Moscow, breathless and small, and watched beautiful birds fly straight into high-voltage power lines.
