Often it means making sure everyone and everything is okay because that’s the only way to prove your value. Sometimes it means a thirteen year old girl will carry the only home she knows on her back.

After the trauma Annabeth experienced during The Titan's Curse, aka the winter from hell, Percy decides she needs someone to do something nice for her, nothing expected in return. And who better for the job and to make sure it's done right, then Percy himself? So he invites her to his mom's place in the city before she heads back to San Francisco. He's done his research, bought everything he needs, and is determined to do Annabeth's hair wash day routine all on his own. She just needs to sit there and not worry. She can do that right?
