Summary
The book was a wonderful gift in and of itself, bound in blue textile and with sturdy covers. It had been bound by hand, there was only one copy in existence and it was his.
The back read “HDB41 Case File Summary - ‘33 to ‘50”.
Harry traced his finger along the index. That alone was three whole pages. He still couldn’t grasp the length of his own service, and seeing it lined up like this… It felt staggering. He had forgotten more than most officers of the RCM could show after an entire career.HDB41-2505.1530-CC41: THE DECOY BOY.
What happened that summer and autumn ten years ago, when Harry Du Bois and John McCoy finally fell out as partners?
What was the lead up to Harry and Dora's relationship falling apart so suddenly it left Harry traumatised for years?
And why does Harry have such visceral reactions to being touched?Series

Summary
"Thank God it’s Friday."
She walked across the bridge to the Silk Mill. The sun was out, it was going to be a warm day in May.
"Thank God I have the weekend off!"
Judit was late for her shift. She was going to get chewed out.-----
The RCM is a masculine work place, with very little space for traditionally feminine concerns, like fitting together the pieces of the life-puzzle of having children with an irregular shift schedule, or how to parry comments and jokes aimed at fundamental qualities of your person. Or the assumption that nothing you do as a health officer will ever count as much as the "proper" police work of a homicide investigator.
This is a story in which Judit Minot reflects on her place in the RCM and in her life, and does so over a dinner with her boss Harry Du Bois. And he turns out to be listening to her concerns.
Platonic friendship ensues in a cozy setting with politicised undertones.Series

Summary
Jamrock was as it always had been: rough and tumble, riddled with crime and poverty.
He, on the other hand, had changed so much in so short a time.
And yet here he was: an old dog seemingly incapable of doing anything else than return to his old master.Harry comes back to work after his sick-leave following Martinaise. Precinct 41 is still the Bloody Murder Station and all his old colleagues are there with their old grievances.
A character study and exploration of Harry Du Bois' relationships with three men in his life: Jean Vicquemare, Kim Kitsuragi and John McCoy. And a pretty terrible case going on in the background.
