Summary
Viktor stalked closer, eyes scanning over the unnamed human. A man, he soon realized, judging by his muscular frame. He was dressed in what used to be a white coat, now tarnished with dirt, sewage, and… blood. The man shifted slightly where he lay, the emblem on his shoulder glinting briefly in the faint light from above, only for a second.
Wait... That was--
The Talis emblem.
“Jayce?”
Throwing all caution to the wind, Viktor immediately dropped to his knees before Jayce, hands hovering over the man’s wounded form. To his surprise, Jayce flinched.
“You’re not real.”
OR:
Viktor begins having recurring nightmares of some ravine and tries to make sense of it, especially when Jayce suddenly appears at the center of it all.

Summary
“I didn’t want you to see,” Viktor says, as if it were the simplest thing.
“See what? What could we possibly have to hide from each other anymore?” But Viktor does not answer - nor does he appear to have any intention of doing so. Jayce presses, “Were you afraid it was going to make me angry? Or sad?”
There comes another long silence. Viktor tilts his head to look out of the rondel window, inviting slate shadows to inhabit the grooves of his face; his gaze is distant, drawn to the sky, as if he would like to drift off the point.
“It wouldn’t make you happy.”
In the end, two souls become one - until they don’t.
Alive and once more his own person, Jayce finds himself in the coastal city of Nashramae. There he must grapple with the indolence of an aimless life and his complicated feelings towards Viktor: who, after everything, pushed him away, but left the shell of his presence to linger in Jayce’s heart like a curse.

Summary
As far as punishments go, rebirthing a once terminally ill man - whose obsession with human perfection drove him to almost end humanity - in a hospital bed in palliative care could be seen as a little on the nose. To make it the same one he woke up in all those months-years-a lifetime ago, especially so. But Viktor can’t help feeling it’s far better than he deserves.
Viktor emerges from the Arcane, alone. He’s not sure he can navigate a world that doesn’t have Jayce Talis in it.

Summary
Like most unfortunate things in Viktor’s life, the vandalization of his apartment didn’t occur suddenly. It approached silently, from behind, and held him hostage at a blade's edge while he watched. It was just like everything else; like the ache in his leg that only grew worse, this was very much the same. It had grown into such a horrible and ugly thing that he could do nothing but stare into the face of it and realize with an awful certainty that he had been suffocating on that knife's edge for a while now, and there was nothing he could do about it.

Jayce hummed. "What about you, then? No one waiting at home?"It had slipped out without much thinking. He'd been staring at Viktor's empty ring finger for quite some time; his eyes constantly looking to see if jewelry had appeared in between their arrangements. Before he could take back the question, Viktor inhaled deeply and set some of his documents aside.
"No," he replied simply. He would not meet Jayce’s eyes, as if he were trying his hardest to pretend this was a question, an answer like any other.
"Would… you like that?" Jayce asked again with his last ounce of courage, nothing more than a whisper between the dark walls of Viktor’s office.
"Having someone waiting for you to come back from work. To… unwind with."

Summary
Jayce was staring at the wall when Viktor found him, stubble already overgrown, hair shorn. He looked broken, fragile. A lost little boy thrown to wolves. Viktor had the ridiculous urge to pull him close, stroke his hair, and let him fall asleep in his lap, safe from harm. He didn’t know the man, only his journal.
“I hope I am not interrupting,” Viktor said, halfway between the dark humor of his home and Piltover politeness.
Jayce’s hazel eyes swung to him, bloodshot and puffy. He shook his head once, slowly, as if he were ashamed. The urge to cradle him grew stronger, a living thing in his chest.
Jayce is thrown into Stillwater after his experiment kills a teenage girl. Viktor finds his journal and becomes obsessed, retreating to Zaun to continue his work with the help of his old mentor. It only takes seven years of obsessive work and a jailbreak to reunite them.

Jayce manages to believe it until the hazy memory fades, darkened by the familiar sound of blood in his temples. The sound. He remembers that a cracking mind is very loud when it break. Much louder that his own bones breaking. Yes. Yes, he remembers that. The noise. He remembers the evening that should have been a cloudless night, surrounded by his art and people who loves his work, turning into the day his mind had been lost. Or was it just his common sense ?That night, Jayce’s sanity remained behind a heavy door of an emergency exit. Hidden, nestled between long, pale fingers and a bottle of water. No longer his. Like everything else.
