As she breathed, her lungs burned hot in spite of the oxygen cannula in her nose. She heard the beeping of machines next, then, when she opened her eyes, she saw the fuzziness of a sterile, white room.
Finally, as she blinked her vision into focus, she saw an older woman standing over her, spikey grey-blonde hair and a stern expression on her face.
