Jason is starting to lose it. Yeah, he met a girl. And she's like sunshine and sees good in him and he feels safe around her and what the hell is that? Fkn not a thing. Also, the idea that she feels safe around him? Yeah, that's— not a thing people associate with Jason Todd. And if she knew he was the Red Hood? She'd be gone. Which is not something he is prepared for anymore because...
Dammit she wasn't supposed to get close. Not like this. Spending a few hours together wasn't supposed to make him feel more alive than he has since he was brought back.
Yet there she is. She's under his skin and he's not sure how to remove himself from this situation cleanly without hurting everyone. She's already in danger just knowing him and he's already compromised by whatever the hell this feeling is he gets whenever he's around her.
Maybe he can avoid thinking about it, beat the filth out of the streets as Red Hood and everything will just... work out?
Right.

Jason accidentally falls for a church girl. She's the sunshiney faith and optimism to contrast his grit and heavy realism.

Benny DeMarco doesn't get paid enough to sleep in the same barrack as the Bucks at the POW camp in the winter months once everyone has to start sharing bunks...
Buck and Bucky are sharing a bunk and let's just say they are not subtle about anything that is going on in that bed. If anyone was oblivious to the feelings going on between the two of them before, it's never been more obvious than now.
Benny DeMarco is pretty over it, but he'll also defend them to his dying breath. Oh, and he's taken to gossiping about them with John Brady.

“My fiancee—” Rey choked through a small explanation. “He’s next door and he’s going to die- probably tonight is what the doctor says. And I - I don’t know what to do.” The woman takes her by the hands and pulls her into a hug and Rey accepts the gesture gratefully, allowing herself to be held for a few minutes.
When she finally pulled out of the embrace, Rey had an idea in her mind that she just couldn’t stop. She eyed the hands of the couple and her lips curled up just slightly.
When she returned to Ben’s hospital room five minutes later she had asked the nurses at the desk to call in the chaplain and the couple next door had lent her their rings and everything was set.

Peter Burke thought he was prepared for anything when he agreed to take Neal Caffrey on as his CI. Even the man turning out to be from Gotham wasn't a big problem; Peter was too, after all. However, the man's increasingly ridiculous explanations ending with "well, it's a Gotham thing" might... but, hey, at least Peter gets to use the same excuse now. If only Neal's excuses actually made sense— sure, Gothamites learn to fight young, but not long enough to take out a whole warehouse NEAL.

Neal huffs. "I'm telling the truth Peter. I don't know what else to tell you."
Peter snorts, and pulls up to June's house. "Maybe you should've chosen a handler who couldn't call you out on Gothamite bullshit."
Neal opens the door. "Maybe that's exactly why I chose you."

Summary
"And they've behaved...appropriately?" Alfred's eyes narrow, and the sharpness of his voice is surprising enough it takes Bruce a few seconds to realize what he's said. "No undue comments?"
"Al," he says, a little desperately. His skin must be melting, Bruce thinks, from how hot his face feels. "My God, Al. Why would you say that?"
A gathering group of superheroes contact Gotham's (unknowingly teenaged) Batman to join them. Alfred, to Bruce's horror, has some words to say about the people trying to befriend one of his charges.
(The Justice League, for their part, want to know why this grown man behaves like an angsty teenager. It doesn't occur to any of them to connect the dots.)

The stare that Gordon levels him with has his skin prickling under the cowl, though he's not entirely sure why. "Batman. He's a kid."
Bruce doesn't frown, because there's not much point in frowning when no one can see it, and also the fabric on his face bends weird when he moves the muscles there too much. "He's old enough."
While Jim swears under his breath, sighing hard through his nose, Bruce looks at Robin doing handstands on a streetlight. It's the truth, he thinks. Bruce would know.
Bruce Wayne was born many years after he should have been. This, of course, changes very little, except that Batman has acne under the cowl.
(He's not sure why people keep looking at him funny when they meet Robin. When Bruce was twelve, he was already training to be a vigilante. And besides, how big of a crime is underage adoption?)
