It all had to be Tracer's fault, because when wasn’t it? That woman had made it her goal to make Amélie's life miserable in the most inconvenient ways. Maybe she let too much slide, but Lacroix’s mission, and Overwatch’s, was about justice. In a mess like this, the lines got blurry fast.
She sighed quietly; it was often a topic that Olivia mocked her for, and Akande occasionally tried to lecture her for attempting to reason with a crazed criminal. She didn’t fully understand it, as the whole problem and the disappearance of the cadet for years was indeed Overwatch's fault.

Ryland Grace thought that working on secret government science projects and then being basically bitten by a radioactive spider and then turning into a gosh-darn superhuman would be the wildest thing that ever happened to him. Because why wouldn't it???
But then one day, after coming home from his perfectly NORMAL job as a school teacher, he senses something. Something new, yet familiar. After trying to chase his best friend's worry away (that certainly won't bite him in the butt, no....) he walks into his house and finds...NINE other spider people. A good chunk of them, by the way, are TEENAGERS and he's pretty certain that he shouldn't be ok with literal kids runninga round risking lives. He's a teacher, for crying out loud!

"Come on Carl, just one thing! Lokken just got her future memories! Why can't I just know one little thing." Ryland was not above whining to get what he wanted. Everyone kept acting weird once they got the time travel memories! The only explanation was that it had to do with the Hail Mary. He wanted to know why.
"You know the project is going to succeed. Is that not enough." Carl, the traitor, raised an eyebrow like he wasn't affected by Ryland's pleas.
"Ok but what do they find? What are the astronauts going to find up there that we can't replicate?" Ryland asked for the umpteenth time. They were all so tight lipped about it! If they already had the answer why don't they just implement it now, why wait almost thirty years?
Carl just laughed, again, like he always did. "You know, you'd already know that if you remembered it," he teased.
Ryland huffed. Fine then! "When I get my own time-travel memories I wont tell you everything I know, see how you like it!"
Weirdly - It was never anything normal with these people! - Carl just smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. "I can't wait."
