“So.” Logan clears his throat. “Collars don’t work on you?”
“Nope,” Wade says, popping the p. “Except in bed.”
Logan takes a deep breath. “And that’s because…?”
“Like I said, snookums, some people are born great, and other people have greatness thrust upon them. I was born great, but then God said, shit! Here’s more greatness with a steel chair! And metaphorically hit me upside my head with it.”
Logan still has a headache from the collar. The dried blood on his face pulls at his skin when he makes a face, which he does now. “Short version?”
“I’m weird. I’m a weirdo mutant.”
“Okay,” Logan says, slowly. “So how did—”
“I think sharing time is over for the day, don’t you?” And then Wade contorts himself to put his muddy, bloody boots up on the dashboard, which starts an argument that conveniently lasts the entire drive.

Connor supposes he should be grateful Captain Fowler is even allowing him to continue to work at all without Hank there. But as Gavid Reed slams his palm onto Fowler's desk and points an accusatory finger towards Connor, he can’t help but feel like the Captain had to be playing some sort of sick joke.
“You stay the fuck out of my way, tin can. Don’t talk, don’t interrupt and don’t fuck with any evidence. Understood?” Reed’s voice was laced with the hint of a threat. If Connor didn’t listen, there would be hell to pay. Connor swallowed slowly and watched as the detective's eyes traced the movement, confusion briefly breaking through his anger.
OR
Connor and Gavin Reed are forced to work together after an injury puts Hank on medical leave, and Gavin learns there's more to Connor than what meets the eye. Slight slowburn, angst and lots of hurt/comfort.

Captain Allen has a newly-found habit of seeking new coffee shops to fuel his need for sweet drinks. While waiting for his coffee, he spots Connor walking Hank's dog and just has to go after him. After having watched Connor jump off of two roofs, he was apt to chat about the world and how Markus' successful protest had changed things. They talk and enjoy coffees between them. Allen finds that he longs for Connor's closeness, but Connor has to leave before they can get close enough.

As Hank and Connor make their way to their respective terminals, Hank almost trips over Tina, who intercedes his pathing on accident, her entire face obscured from view with the huge bouquet of red roses huddled in her arms.
“Whoops!” She shifts the bouquet in her arms, and her face appears from behind the bundle of roses. Her eyes flash mischievously when she recognizes them. “Sorry, boys. I’d love to stay and chat, but I’m in a bit of a rush.”
Hank looks to the roses, unimpressed. “I can see that.”
Beside him, Connor remains silent. There’s a steady frown on his face as he continues to stare at the roses, gaze distant.
Tina notices the staring at the same time Hank does. “Jealous?” A playful smirk stretches across her face.
That seems to draw Connor’s attention back. “I— what?” He blinks, uncomprehending, as if his lightning fast internal processing abilities or whatever-they-were-called struggled to catch up with the question. “No— no, I’m not jealous.” His tone is almost defensive. “But those are very lovely roses."
