西吉斯蒙德把手掌盖在弗里克斯的眼皮上。透过温暖的皮肤，能感觉到其下在微微颤动的眼球。他把诗集往前翻了，想着为弗里克斯再读一节。诗歌中提及许多神明的意象。不存在的神、无力者信仰的导向；并着许多描写，是曾在泰拉开放过的石榴花与长成的葡萄藤。或许在足够漫长的时光前泰拉尚不是如今没有海洋的巢都。西吉斯蒙德想象不出那时的泰拉，那样美丽的、仿佛虚无缥缈的神明都会祝福的乐土。弗里克斯睡得很沉。他没有再读。
