After Luz and her friends arrive at her house when the Day of Unity became the night, many things changed beyond the obvious. Like how it began to rain in Gravesfield almost every day without fail. Or how the Boiling Isles stops being...well, the Boiling Isles.
Adjusting to their new environment won't be easy, they'll have to deal with the weird guy who works at the historical society, learn how to wash cars and ride bikes, and figure out why the local small critter population is beginning to become smaller.
But they'll be fine right? Just like the rain, cloudy skies will eventually become clear. Although, they'll have to learn that the rain washes away a lot more than dirt on the road.

The papers on his desk were organized into two messy piles, the one on the left for signed paperwork that would be taken in the morning. The other was on the right, designated for everything unfinished and awaiting signatures. Despite how late into the night it was the right side still far outweighed the left, the new usual for almost every evening.
The words in front of Hunter’s eyes blurred. How long had he been staring at this particular paper? It didn’t really matter, he wasn’t required to read what it said anyways. All that was needed of him was his signature. Another new usual.

Today was an important one, the trial of Raine Whispers. From what Lilith had heard the ex coven head wouldn’t be attending themself. Lilith glanced at the large clock on the wall, the trial was supposed to start at seven but it seemed like the Golden Guard wasn’t there yet.--------------
There’s a new wanted poster in the market.
It’s of someone called the 'Midnight Menace' Luz didn’t really give it an extra thought at the time, after all they were just another vigilante that would soon be taken care of by the Golden Guard or Kikimora. That’s what happened to all of the others anyway.

Rocky had dropped by in the morning, before Grace was going to his class. Grace almost spat out the poor excuse for coffee the Eridians had managed to synthesize after the real one ran out. Instead, he swallowed it wrong, and had a little coughing fit.
“What? Why would you ask that?” Grace said after he recovered his voice.
“Grace and Simon live together, do everything together, like mates,” Rocky said.
“Ah. No buddy, we’re just friends. Like you and me. Like we lived together on the journey here.”
“Grace and Simon sleep together,” Rocky added.
Grace felt the tip of his ears heat up.
“Um, yes. We sleep together. Only sleep.”
Rocky couldn’t possibly know the double entendre in the phrase “sleeping together”, but still, Grace felt the need to clarify that.

Somehow every conversation he was a part of the whole day devolved into how handsome or well-built this Mr. Butcher was, some of the kids would also add how fun he was in class but that was a far-flung second place on the list.
Grace knew that new blood coming into any school was going to be picked apart and idolized for a while but it was almost creepy how much the teenagers and grown adults seemed to obsess over the guy. Maybe he just didn't understand because he hadn't met him yet but from an outside perspective it was all rather nuts.
He wouldn't deny he was curious though.
