I can barely keep myself alive half the time! You need—uh—you need a responsible, kindhearted woman from a humble background with good soup-making skills, not a chronically overworked peak lord-slash-spy!”
The baby responded by making a small, gurgling noise that sounded alarmingly like agreement.
