Buck looked at him like he was crazy. “Where would I sleep?”
“Where are you sleeping here?” Eddie asked, not missing Buck’s guilty glance at the pillows and sheets piled on his couch that answered his question. “I guarantee you my couch is just as comfortable.”
Buck seemed to really consider it for the first time, jaw twitching as he weighed Eddie’s offer but then he shook his head sadly.
“You just feel bad for me, laid up and staying here alone.”
Eddie shrugged. “Is that a bad thing? Caring about you?”

Summary
Sokka takes a strategic step back, but he also smiles: triumphant, like he baited Zuko into exactly what he wanted. Like it’s a challenge. It’s the same way he looked when they sized each other up at the prison, with Sokka in chains that left red marks around his wrist, in tattered prison garb, malnourished and angry. Back then, that was Sokka saying: I see your power. I see you. Now, see me.
Zuko saw him then. And he sees him now; different, but the same. I see you.
Zuko lights his daos in flame. Sokka grins, back to gravel and heat. “Come on, Fire Lord. Impress me.”
Zuko burns. His vision flickers with fire. His heart races. His blood sings. His body is like a magnet, pulling ever onward to meet Sokka’s. He advances.
He pins Sokka to the wall, blades against his throat.
Or, Zuko found Aang first, Sokka and Katara were imprisoned in Boiling Rock for trying to rescue their dad, and all Sokka knows is he's pretty sure he's not supposed to think the Fire Lord is attractive but he's never let things like rules stop him before.

“Did someone put a stick up your ass? Or did you shove one up there yourself so you had an excuse to be a total prick?” Sokka asked, cutting him off.
Zuko’s scowl deepened. “Go back to making your shitty latte’s or whatever,” he scoffed, waving Sokka off and falling back into his chair.
Sokka and Zuko do not like each other. However, unbeknownst to them, they're actually best friends online, going under the pseudonyms of thebluespirit and boomeranguy15. When Blue and Boomerang find out they both live in Hong Kong, they decide to meet up in person as soon as possible.
Suffice to say, things don't exactly go to plan.

Her eyes flick up to where Zuko just disappeared from her sight, and she snaps, sharp, precise, and feels lightning-tinged fire arc off her fingertips.

Sokka tamps down the urge to roll his eyes. The Fire Nation absolutely adores this guy and he has to play nice. For the Tribe, he thinks, for the Tribe.
“Zuko! Buddy!” Sokka greets loudly going in for a hug. When they’re close enough, he lowers his voice to a rough whisper. “I'd rather be doing anything else right now,” he mutters in the prince’s ear, a fake, wide smile plastered on his face.
Zuko stiffens but scoffs at him in the same volume. “Do you think I have nothing better to do?” he says, and the two break apart, both brandishing false grins at the other.
(IN WHICH: Prince Zuko and Prince Sokka accidentally cause an international scandal and now have to pretend to be best friends, which is a little difficult when they, of course, hate each other)
