    Summary

Midoriya Izuku knows teachers are all the same. He had wanted so, so badly for Sensei to be different. He had always admired Eraserhead as a pro hero, and then Sensei had saved his life. And, yes, he was strict, but so much nicer than any teacher before.

But he was still a teacher. And Izuku was still a quirkless, useless freak who didn’t deserve any of this. Not for free, at least.

He thought he’d never have to go back. But he would, for his dream.

    --

Aizawa Shouta knows something's wrong with his problem child. Recklessness, lack of trust, and all the broken bones from a quirk the kid couldn't control. None of it made sense. And what finally tipped Aizawa over the edge was the most recent test results. His number one problem child kept missing questions Aizawa knows he should be getting correct. It was about time the underground hero got some answers from his student.

     --

    Or:
Izuku has a bad history with teachers and tests. Aizawa and All Might make some realizations. Cue lots of panic attacks and even more crying.

    Summary

“Kacchan,” Izuku says. He looks at his All Might drawing in the sand again, wiping at his eyes. “Do your parents play games with their friends?”

“Yeah. What do you think they’re doing while I’m stuck having to play with you?”

Izuku thinks the words should make him upset, but they don’t. He’s too busy digging his nails into his legs, thinking about the room, to be upset about anything Kacchan is saying.

“At the end of the game, do … Do you ever go into a room with them? With your parents’ friends and ... do stuff?”

When he turns around, Kacchan is staring at him with a twisted expression.

    “What are you talking about?”

    Summary

Izuku Midoriya is not the sun. He is not the moon and he is not even the stars.
    It's something he struggles accepting.

    OR

Izuku has been compared to many things when he was little; the most notorious being the sun. After being abandoned because of his quirkless diagnosis, he can only fill the void in his chest with convincing himself he resembles the moon more.

That's until one night at UA, where he realizes that being the sun or the moon is higher praise than he thought, and Deku can't seem to think he's worthy of being compared to them. Someone he didn't think he'd talk to about his problems comes along, softly prods the answers out of him and gives him something else, something not as extreme to associate himself with.

    And Izuku... is at peace.

    Summary

“Have you ever thought about dying?”

It was late, sometime between midnight and sunrise when the world slept quiet and peaceful beneath the gently blinking eyes of the stars. Hunter hummed from where he stood leaning back against the counter, just out of arms reach from Luz’s hunched-over form sitting at the table with her head resting on crossed arms. His eyes stayed firmly on the glass of water in his hand, and she watched him swirl it around, waiting for an answer without impatience or urgency because she knew she would get one, because he always answered her even if the answer was ‘I don’t know’, because this was the millionth conversation like this they’d had since getting stuck in the human realm and they’d both already asked and answered far worse questions than that.

OR Luz and Hunter have a midnight talk about death, grief, and questions that were better left unanswered.
