“It looks like you’re having twins, actually in separate sacs.” Her tone is cool and matter-of-fact. As if she was saying the sky was blue and as if she was not delivering the news of complete and utter insanity.
Shane’s hearing has gone muffled by the time the doctor finishes speaking and he stares straight ahead to the ceiling. Words are being exchanged but his mind is unable to catch up to decipher them. PMDS. Uterus. Pregnant. Twins.
What the fuck.
Something is being smoothed over his face but he feels numb. He blinks for a moment and suddenly the brightness of the room and the voices become coherent again. It is Ilya touching his face, whispering sweet affirmations in order for him to come back into himself.
“Breathe moya lyubov. In and out. I’m here with you. Is okay.” Ilya keeps repeating these sentiments until Shane is finally present in his body enough to speak coherent sentences.
“It looks as though you are about less than 10 weeks along. We’re going to take proper measurements and provide you with the details here. But we also understand this is unprecedented for unsuspecting parents and we want to inform you of your options.” Dr Hammock says.

What he didn't realize then was how being Shane Hollander would make his world seem smaller. There are so many things Shane Hollander can't do.

Shane is a good son who visits his parents on weekends. Shane Hollander is a professional athlete with a clean reputation. Hollander is a little freak who wants to get railed until he forgets he even has a name. And never the twain shall meet. So why the fuck is Rozanov calling him Shane now?

“Tell me,” he encouraged softly. Shane looked at him for a bit longer, weighing something unknown in his mind. Then he spoke.
“You know, I miscarried once.”
OR: A false alarm at the Pike household leads Shane to confess an old secret to Ilya. Cue the tailspin.
