    Summary

A piece of Voldemort's soul attached to baby Harry Potter that fateful Halloween night. Over the years, the soul piece witnessed how much danger and pain his host was in. How far would the soul go to protect the child he began to care for, especially when the boy started to care for him in return? Oh, just a little over-protective care, some magic training, maybe some necromancy...

    Summary

The king brandished a roll of parchment and bent down to claim a kiss. “One lascivious wedding night, as promised.”
Irene smiled at him, but was not quite as eager as Eugenides had expected. “Relius, too, was successful.” She picked up one of the items she had been studying and handed it to him: a small pamphlet with a silhouette of an embracing couple on the front.
The king turned it over in his hand, puzzled.
“This was printed,” he said. “The scroll I found was written in calligraphy, copied by a scribe.”
“And that’s not all,” Attolia said, pushing the other piece of parchment on her desk at him. “I found this on a table in one of my antechambers. It’s handwritten but not the same version as the book.”
“Does our mysterious authoress have copycats now?” he asked. “What do we do?”
Attolia gave a delicate shrug and rose from her desk. Leaving her robe on a hook for her attendants to deal with later, she slipped into bed. “Read them all.”

    Summary

“Did you steal my hairpins?” she asked in a low voice at dinner, under cover of the shuffling between courses. Eugenides sat to her right, Eddis to her left. There was a friendly baron across the table, Eddis’s unfriendly Minister of War on his left, and an uneasy ally of the crown on his other side, all within plausible hearing distance.

Eugenides looked, unaccountably, delighted to have been caught. That grin flashed across his face and he met her eyes quite without shame.

“You have lovely hair,” he whispered, and his hand uncurled between them to reveal the pins. Five of them, and she had not felt even one slip out.
