Summary
Three years after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Ted Buchanan, Buffy Summers is out on parole. She's back in Sunnydale and ready to make a fresh start - but nothing is as she left it. Her friends are gone. Her mother is dead. Perhaps most importantly, Sunnydale already has a Slayer: Faith Lehane, who's been saving the world this whole time while Buffy's been locked up.
Does Buffy even have a place here anymore? What's Faith supposed to do with an extra Slayer in her town? And if they despise each other so much, why can't they manage to stay apart?

Ava was different. Everyone knew it. Marcus, Damien, Kiki—they all rode that bus, crammed into the same seats day after day. But Ava was the one Deborah kept close.
The two were never apart. Even when they ended up on opposing teams for charades, they sat beside each other on the couch. Deborah’s hand would find Ava’s knee when Marcus gave a perfect clue. Ava would grin when Deborah guessed right and they would look at each other for a fraction of a second too long.

Summary
Two chapters, Two POVs, one scene. Each chapter is the same scene through a different lense. I love pondering through what each character might be thinking/feeling in the same scene. For the sake of continuity, we stick to one POV in scene. I like exploring Chrisjen's side and then Bobbie's.
This particular scene takes place the night before Bobbie is to leave for a mission that Chrisjen assigned her to.

“Well, it ain’t personal. Just didn’t exactly expect you to crash,” Faith says, knocking back another shot just for something to do with her hands. “You’re kinda blowing up my spot here, B. Clam-jammin’. What if I was looking to get lucky?”
“I’d say that’s maybe not a great idea when you’re supposed to be on a plane in a little while. But then again, neither is getting hammered,” Buffy says, frowning. Then she leans forward, plucking a shot glass right from between Faith’s fingers and draining it with only a slight wince. “Are you?”
It takes Faith a beat to register Buffy’s question. She was still staring at the line of Buffy’s throat. “Huh? Am I what?”
“Looking to get lucky?”

“So, the breakup must have been pretty bad then, I’m guessing,” Buffy says, in that tone that she uses when she wants to sound casual about something she’s been obsessing over.
Faith raises her eyebrows, glancing over at Buffy. “As far as I know, you’re still together. As much as you ever were, anyway — I never really got all the details.”
Of all the things that have changed, this has stayed exactly as Faith remembers. Buffy doesn’t talk to Faith about her life. Especially not her boyfriends. Not any more than she absolutely has to.
“No, not me and Spike,” Buffy says, pushing off the railing and crossing the gap between them to sit down next to Faith. She’s so close Faith can smell that stupid, fruity body-spray she loves. Cherry blossoms. She’s so close Faith can’t help but feel a pang of regret about it, the way the ashtray smell of her bad habit is going to smother that nice, clean scent. “Me and you.”

When Buffy gets her memory wiped by a spell, she seeks out Faith to answer some burning questions.
