Summary
Everyone is born with a small pale mark on their chest that turns into a tattoo of a flower bud made of simple lines on the day of their sixth birthday, each with their own colors. Belonging with that flower, every person is born without a tamana - the name of their soul - and it has to be bestowed upon them by their soul's parental figure(s). That name is something that the parent(s) chose with great care and meaning, making the tamana something similar to a title.
Tsumiki grows up wishing for her tamana, but when her soulmark doesn't bloom, she decides that she doesn't need it to have a family.
Megumi doesn't care about soulmarks. However he does regret the consequences that not having them brought.
Satoru thinks soulmarks, soul names and the weight that people give them are pointless. Raising a pair of kids was 100% accidental and 100% his choice.

But Geto Suguru is dead.
And Gojo Satoru killed him.
Megumi's ocean blue eyes had careened toward Satoru, standing in their living room with his soiled boots on and cuts on his knuckles because of Miguel's whip. He had a bowl in one hand, and a gallon of milk in the other. Satoru is sure he's going to eat cereal because why wouldn't he? He's home, in the home Satoru placed him in. The home he never got to have because Zen'in Toji was a piece of shit and so was Tsumiki's mother and because Satoru killed him—
"Okay." Megumi says.

“I am keeping up,” he says through gritted teeth. Naoya is at the top of his class, the pride of the Zen’in clan. To compare their skills isn’t fair.
“Mhm, sure.” Satoru laughs like he doesn’t believe him. “Prove it, then!”
And he will. One day, Naoya thinks. One day he’ll stand at the top and his name will be synonymous with Satoru’s, and everyone who matters will know who he is.
Especially Satoru.
