Summary
Eddie really, really hates the way people treat Buck sometimes.
No one ever really sees him for all that he is. They look at him and see a pretty face and a beautiful body, and they assume that’s all there is to him. It doesn’t matter that he’s unbelievably kind, and fiercely loyal, and way smarter than he lets on, and all around the most genuine and good person Eddie’s ever known. They decide with one snap judgment that he’s just a dumb, shallow pretty boy, and they treat him accordingly. It makes Eddie sick.
So yes, sometimes he steps in and sets them straight.

Summary
Spoilers/speculation from the Season 5b promo
“9-1-1 what’s your emergency?” Eddie asks, when the call comes through; still perfecting his phone-voice a little bit at a time.
There’s no response for a moment, but just before he can repeat the question, he recognises a sound in the distance. It’s a sound every firefighter dreads to hear; the shrill whine of a PASS device. It means firefighter down, it means one of his brothers or sisters in the service either hasn’t moved for long enough for the alarm to sound automatically, or it's been switched on as a call for help.
It’s interrupted by a cough then, a harsh one that seems as if to rattle in the caller’s chest before they take a deep breath as if to speak.
“This…this is Firefighter Buckley, from the one-eighteen. My radio’s busted, and I—I think I’m trapped.”
Eddie’s blood goes cold.
.
Buck's injured on a call, and so of course Eddie's on the other end of the line when he dials 911.

Summary
“How did you get home from the hospital?”
“Took an uber.”
“Does Maddie know?” Silence. “Does anyone?” More silence. More of Buck refusing to meet his gaze, staring at the door like he thought he could entice Eddie to leave by the power of suggestion. Well, good fucking luck, Eddie thought. Wild horses, and all that. “Why didn’t you call anyone?” he demanded. “Why didn’t you call me?”
“I did!” Buck snarled. The momentum of his indignation carried him into a sitting position, and Eddie could see him flinch with the pain of it. His unnaturally stoic front was gone, and something raw and wrenching took its place; it occurred to Eddie that he’d never heard Buck raise his voice before. “I did call you, Eddie! As I was bleeding out on my kitchen floor. You. Didn’t. Answer.”
---
The squatter in Buck's attic has a knife. Buck has a bit of a breakdown. Eddie has a plan to make everything right.

Summary
“I just—I don’t want you to be alone,” said Eddie, softly, like an admission.
Join the fucking club, Buck thought. It was funny, but none of his laughs were coming out right tonight. “I am alone, Eddie.”
“Buck, I—”
“She wants my kidney.” There it went; Buck never could keep anything inside. Could never keep the feelings contained, could never stop them from spilling out over the people nearest him. “That’s what fucking happened, okay? My dad needs a kidney donor and they remembered why they bothered having me in the first place. Is that what you wanted to hear? That my parents finally found a use for me after all these years?”
-----
A request from his mom tears open old wounds for Buck. From 800 miles away, Eddie tries to stitch him back together.

Summary
The phone on Buck’s nightstand starts to vibrate, and Eddie freezes in a delayed reaction.
“Fuck,” Buck says, dropping his head back and turning over to grab his phone, forcing Eddie to peel himself away.
Eddie's eyebrows scrunch. He recognizes the haptics: it’s Morse code. The vibrations are reading out: “PA.”
After running a quick list of abbreviations in his head, the only explanation that makes sense is Pennsylvania.
Oh. Yeah, fuck.
or: the buckley parents are visiting LA for jee's 4th birthday. which is fine, except they don't know two things:
1. buck has hearing aids again, and 2. he's engaged to eddie.
