   A year easily went by since Gilgamesh hurled the both of them out of the Moon Cell in another so-called whim of his, and Hakuno did not, for the record, take Christian Hans Andersen’s advice about staying the fuck away from him. In retrospect, perhaps she should have, and just then, maybe Hakuno wouldn’t be having existential doubts about the meaning behind whatever it was Gilgamesh whispered into her hair whenever they mapped each other’s bodies out, biting and sucking in all the places they knew would make them fall apart at the seams.

   Gilgamesh might think of himself cunning and subtle, but his silence, however, only encouraged Hakuno to try harder to expose his many lies. Just what game is he playing now?
