"You know what I've been getting into?" Eric asked in that way that let you know he had no intention of waiting for your answer. "Voice notes. You know about that?"
"Voice notes?" Assad asked, watermelon stabbed onto the end of his fork and hovering near his mouth.
"Yeah, there's that little microphone by the window that you type into. If you press that, you can talk into the phone and the text appears."
"That's not a voice note, Eric."
"It's not?"
"No. That's talk to text. Voice note is when you record what you say and then send it. With your actual voice."
Finally, he shoved the cube past his lips, hoping Eric would pivot into something that left him the room to chew. His favorite thing when sharing a meal with Eric. The room to chew.

“T-terminated?” Daniel parrots. “I’m terminated?”
Armand is hardly fazed by his confusion. “Yes. And I am, as you so eloquently put it, so soulless it makes you want to fuck roadkill.”
Four years as Armand’s personal assistant, gone in an instant thanks to Daniel’s big mouth. Now he can kiss goodbye to any reputable career beyond Armand’s errand boy. Daniel will do anything to get that job back. Armand just wants to look like something other than a total failure.
Lestat turns to him, lips curled in cruel laughter. “Five years? And you still play butler for the little demon? How sweet. His personal mini gremlin.”
Armand cuts in for Daniel, closing the distance between them. “Yes, Daniel is still my assistant, Lestat.” And suddenly they’re touching. Daniel nearly jumps at the sensation, head whipping around to see Armand’s face. “And also, he is my boyfriend.”
