Anders tucked his hood around his ears against the biting cold and fog, swinging his feet on the low stone wall that he and Hawke sat on. They’d been a while, but Hawke was fairly sure he knew the rendezvous point. If nothing else, the dizzying stone bridge leading to an enormous fortress with Inquisition banners seemed to prove him correct. It was only that Varric was missing. When a lone small figure finally did stride out of the mists, and into view, Anders could have leapt up and hugged him, if only for the fact that they’d been waiting in the damn cold.
“You were supposed to come alone,” said Varric, by way of greeting. Anders tipped up his hood, and waved. “Oh, for fuck’s sake. That’s exactly what I was afraid of.”
“Nice to see you, too, Varric,” said Anders.

Summary
A hapless farmer outside Kirkwall has triggered a five hundred year old enchantment and cursed his town into an unnatural slumber. Hawke's best lead to break the curse is one Ser Robert d'Estienne. When Ser Robert requests the use of a mage to help him break the curse's series of magical defences, Marian loans him Anders. Not that Anders gets a say in the matter.
Accompanied by Aveline, Fenris and one pompous mage-hating knight, Anders is due for a very long, very bad day. He just wishes the elf would stop staring at him, and let him daydream in peace about a world in which this had never happened.

Summary

The more Beau digs into her closest friend's lowest moment, the less convinced she is that they have the full story of what happened to Caleb. Maybe she's onto something. Maybe she's fallen down a rabbit hole to avoid confronting her own feelings.

Veth squeezed his hand gently and patted the back. “I’ve gotta pay bail first. Then we can get you out.” She whispered, forlorn, and placed a dry peck of the lips on his knuckles.
The boy still didn’t answer her. His fear was still a mask over his face, and Veth looked at it with a frown.
“I won’t hurt you, my boy.” She whispered. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
I wanted an alternate backstory where Veth meets a Feebleminded Bren and takes him in. And since they say ”God helps those who help themselves”, I just went ahead and started making it myself. Enjoy.
