Summary
Adapting is, perhaps, one of the most difficult things a person could ever do.
Humans are pattern-seeking creatures, after all. Humans rely on what they know to make sense of a chaotic, uncertain world, oftentimes doubling down on what has served them in order to grasp at whatever control they can get in a world so out of their control.
If they could, most humans would refuse to adapt at all.
However, Midoriya Izuku has no choice but to adapt when All Might tells him to be “realistic”.
No doubt, it is hard. But with some overdue encouragement and support from his mother, Izuku discovers a door previously unknown to him, one that, with some adapting, opens to a possibility that enables him to fulfil his lifelong dream, albeit in a different form.
And, unwittingly, starting a chain reaction that would have massive repercussions for all of society.

When Ra's al Ghul pushed Tim Drake out of a window after he foiled his plots again, he did something and the vigilante disappeared. Six months later, and through a completely unrelated summoning to an alternate dimension's Sun God, Tim reappeared both five years older and part of the crew of the King of Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy.
Now stuck in his home dimension for a month until they can be sent back home, due to bullshit magic reasons, Tim has to face the Batfamily that he had left behind, reckon with a couple of old ghosts, and deal with Bruce Wayne's ever-increasing paranoia in the wake of his disappearance. Luckily, Tim is older, theoretically wiser, and knows that his crew has his back.
(And, in flashbacks, Tim grows into the pirate he is today: the Shadow of the King.)

Life on the Sunny with them all wasn’t defined by huge tragedies. It’s something Tim had learned over the years. That mindset, one he was taught by his world, was a burden rather than a strength. It would weigh you more if you defined yourself by them. Until you crawled into the grave with them and let the Earth swallow you whole.
It was different here. He had learned differently. Your tragedies were part of you. They were important, but these events weren’t all that you were. You were so much more interesting than you past. It seemed to be Luffy’s own life motto: judging people as they are and not who they were.

“Okay,” he says, erasing the numbers typed into his phone. “What’s your nanny’s number, then?”
“My what?” Timothy looks scandalized.
“Your babysitter? Whoever is in charge of you while your parents are gone,” he clarifies.
“I’m in charge of me when my parents are gone,” Timothy says proudly, his little chest puffing out. “I’m the Man of the House.”
