Buck gets home on an ordinary Tuesday evening, after a long and grueling shift that had him dead on his feet and a goal to crash into the couch as fast as possible, only to be met with Eddie sprawled on top of it, a tiny curled up furball on his chest, right underneath his chin.
The slight frown Buck is sporting between his eyebrows all but disappears the moment he lays his eyes on the image in front of him, taking it all in. Eddie’s mouth is curved up in a playful smile, pointing a finger at the little kitten who just opened its eyes, green and shiny, looking at Buck with a scowl… a scowl? Since when can cats scowl?
“Welcome home, Buck. Meet Luna.”
Or: Eddie's new kitten isn't too fond of Buck, so he tries everything in his powers to get closer to her while also navigating his new found feelings for his best friend.

"Eddie's pregnant Bobby, I'm gonna be a dad.” He choked out. “I can't become a dad without my own dad by my side. You can't do that to me! That's why I need you to try and hold on okay? That's all I'm asking! Just try for me, for your grandchild Bobby. You have to fight for us!"

In retrospect Eddie probably should have realised what was happening with himself. He was there for the beginning of Shannon’s pregnancy, he was also a trained medic, he should have recognised all the symptoms.
Except, well, he didn’t know that it was possible for him to become pregnant. Not until the doctor told him he was literally a minute ago and all he could do was stare at her in shock.
“Did you hear me, Mister Diaz? Are you okay?”...
Eddie finds out he is pregnant a couple months into his stay in El Paso, whilst long-distance dating Buck, and not being out to Chris yet. He comes out to Chris, though, and they make a plan to surprise Buck with their return home and the baby, only for Eddie to receive a call in the middle of the night. The last call he could ever possibly want to receive. So they race home to LA, via car, because precautions, to get back to their Buck.
And maybe, just maybe, all will be okay in the end.Day one of PregEddieWeek.

Summary
Buck blinks hard, but the scene in front of him doesn’t change.
There’s a new soft swell to Eddie’s stomach, still small but large enough that it must take some effort to hide it under his clothes. His hand is resting there, almost cradling it, and Buck is transfixed.
He drags in a ragged breath. It could be nothing. Maybe Eddie had an abnormally large lunch, or maybe he gained a few pounds from the more sedentary work he did in El Paso. Either could be a reasonable explanation for the change in Eddie’s body.
But Buck also remembers the secret Eddie whispered to him here in this room, in the dim light of the early morning. With their bodies still tangled together, Eddie’s face had gone tight and cautious as he apologized for not telling Buck sooner that he was a carrier — information that had been largely irrelevant in his life before that moment.
And that means…

“Well, I guess you were wrong about something after all, Diaz,” Buck mumbled. He didn’t think Christopher could hear over the chatter of the crowd in the food court, and even if he could he doubted he’d respond.
In continuing the tradition of surprising Buck today, Chris responded, “What? Who was wrong?” Buck focused his eyes over at Chris across from him. Finally he seemed interested in what Buck had to say.
“Oh, it’s nothing. Just something Eddie had told me.”
“Buck…” Chris didn’t break eye contact.
“Right. No more secrets,” Buck sighed, giving in. “I was really hoping to have this conversation somewhere a little more private but since you asked… What is it with you and calling us out at inopportune times?”
Christopher just shrugged, “I don’t know. Teenager powers?”

“Hello, Eddie.” Echo greets the guest and it makes Eddie smile a little and greets him back. There was a beat of silence. And because Buck still hasn’t answered Eddie, he turns to the parrot.
“Echo, do you want to tell me, what’s going on with Buck?” Eddie jokes. Buck knows Eddie is joking. But he knows what the parrot will do, but his body is frozen in place, he can’t stop what’s about to come out of the parrot’s beak.
“Tommy is right.” Echo says and Eddie’s eyes go wide. Then he gives Buck a quick look, before following up on the comment the parrot made.
“Tell me more, Echo.”
OR: After a zoo fire, Buck takes in two parrots, temporarily, of course. Just a few hours later he realizes that he’s in love with Eddie. What could go wrong?

“Exactly,” Karen jumped in. “All four of us are going through a lot right now. It’s hard to miss children, especially when you know they’re safe and okay, just not with you.”
“Which is why you wanted the four of us to hang out more?” It was obvious now, to Eddie. He felt a little guilty about it, but he had almost forgotten that Hen and Karen were also missing a child. It was so easy to be wrapped up into just thinking about Chris, Chris, Chris, that the concept that anyone else might also be able to understand what he was going through had completely escaped him.
“Right!” Karen sounded pleased. “I thought if you guys were anything like the two of us, you’re feeling unmotivated, and maybe spending a lot more time lazing around and being sad than you normally would.”
“Lots more to be sad about than usual,” Eddie said slowly.
“Exactly. And I thought that, maybe, the four of us could hold each other accountable. Spend time together once a week and go out and do something.”

Eddie loves that Buck does that, even if they’re not together or on the same shift. He still includes him. Especially now, after Bucks been hurt and he’s getting ready to go get his certification again. They’ll be together and Eddie won’t have to worry about missing anything and he’ll get to see his husband's face at work again. He misses both of them turning around when Diaz is called more than he’d like to admit.
But his day moves swiftly, nothing major occurring.
Until they get the siren for a tsunami hitting the pier and Eddie's heart feels like it’s going to come up out of his mouth. Nausea makes it hard to breathe, his vision blurs and he hears Chimney calling his name, but he doesn’t at the same time. It sounds so far away, everything seems so far away.
