Summary
With only half a year's travel left before they reach Erid, Grace is starting to seriously suffer from malnutrition and is trying his best not to worry about the fate of Earth. The perfect distraction lands right in his lap when suddenly another person appears on the Hail Mary. This is of course impossible, and so is his story of an ocean of blood and vanished stars.
Grace and Rocky have already saved the world once—time to get back to work and do it again. This time, science might not save them, but maybe friendship will still do the trick.

There's more blood smudged on the floors, the walls, leading up, up...Oh. There's a handprint. A handprint of blood. There's no way that could have happened without Grace realizing.
Rocky's still rambling on in the background: "—Adrian die, Stars-Erid-Earth die, all die because Grace is stupid."
Grace can hardly believe the conclusion he's about to draw. "I think someone's on the ship."
