For such an obvious realization, most could forgive the wings, but then they’d realize—whether it was an early prediction or the closed lids of skin that hid away bright blue eyes—they’d eventually put the pieces together.
They were, in the end, the biggest difference between him and humans. They were a big arrow that glowed and pointed to say ‘he isn’t like you’, and for as hard as everybody ignored it, it only lasted so long that their brains would turn a blind, hopeful eye. Afterall, you’d find no human with wings the same way you’d find none with so many eyes. You’d find no angel that acted like Egg the same way you’d find none that actively worked toward doing more.
And then, when they finally accepted that he was different—an angel, somebody above them that was wrong in a way only their subconscious knew—then what?

Summary
Maybe their ending could change now. Assimilation knows of the notes and how supposedly this wasn’t their first time. But maybe it wasn’t meant to go like this. To have his heart beat so roughly in his chest while he carried Andre, the poor speedrunner’s chest being blown right open. He wasn’t sure he would be able to fix the poor AI, fix his chest, the diamond armor being no match for the admin as it had been pierced right through. He somehow lived, somehow in the sense that he was lucky enough to not be brutally torn apart by the admins supposed guns. Now all he could was carry poor Andre as he treaded through, they were going to collect him, but he swooped in at the last second and took Andre into his arms. They were still in the overworld, still had the admins chasing them, and still weren’t free yet.

Assimilation and Andre are on the run from the admins, but are also trying to figure out their new purpose in life while having to deal with the impending thoughts of their old tasks.
