And now where did that leave him?
Sharpness was gone. He had pulled Judelow’s own trap on him, gotten the last laugh, and fucked off to who knows where without a care in the world. His sign was still on the door. His spare armor set still hung on the stand. The stuff he hadn’t stored in his ender chest was still in his room.
And now, Judelow’s base was quiet again.

He looked at his comments anyway. Maybe it was boredom, some kind of circling apathy, a self-destructive impulse that drove him to rake his nails down his arms whenever he failed a run, if only to rid himself of the burning impotency under his skin. It didn’t matter.
