John shook himself. Now was not the time for that. He had to think of a story to get Alan to sleep. Crap, did he know any stories? He was never really into fiction books when he was a kid, he mostly read books about science and astrology. Okay, what kind of stories did Scott tell? Maybe he could recall hearing one through the wall. There was one about… a rabbit? How did that one go again? He was drawing a blank. Honestly, the words were usually hard to make out with Scott doing all those ridiculous voices.
Oh no, were voices a requirement for story time? John didn’t know how to do any voices. Crap crap crap.
Alan continued to stare blankly at him. Come on John, he told himself, he’s four. That was practically a baby. Just say something. Anything.
“How much do you know about space?” He blurted.
John Tracy, self-proclaimed black sheep of his family, has always found it difficult to bond with his younger brothers. When he gets tasked with putting his littlest brother to bed, he finds himself completely out of his depth. The night takes an unexpected turn however, and John discovers that he and Alan might have more in common than he first thought.
