    Summary

    The Renegades AU focuses on a divergent timeline in which Steven Universe is unable to escape the clutches of the Diamonds and Homeworld during the "I Am My Mom" arc. True to Blue Diamond's word, she provides a punishment worse than what Steven initially imagined - rather than shatter his gem, she forces him into the life of a Homeworld soldier; after all, the best punishment "would be to force her back into the life she despised so much that she shattered her own Diamond, right?"

    While on Homeworld, Steven meets his punishment head on with determination. He manages to find friends among the gems who hate him, and adapts to the harsh life of a Homeworld soldier.
