Grace took a leap of faith and opened his eyes. He wasn’t quite sure how long they’d been closed, but the faint light ahead of him seemed to blister them. He knew, though, that there was a distinct lack of blood.
He wished it could be heaven.
“-ocky, he looks weird as fuck and is just staring at me!” The voice yelled, and Grace was reminded that it was new. Someone he hadn’t messed up everything with. Someone to save him.

Summary
Ryland Grace is the main scientist on the C.O.I, and he’s been put in charge of the expedition for the SM-13. An easy enough task in his eyes. Make sure the sub is fine, help the person inside with anything needed and extract any information discovered. Again easy, right?
Everything is laid out and Ryland is confident in it until he sees someone he never expected to see again. A man that he remembers from his own childhood on eden. The same man that is going into the sub and into an ocean of blood.
Now Ryland has to navigate his own emotions while helping his long lost childhood friend navigate hell, and get him out of it alive.

Summary
In order to reduce his sentence, Simon makes a deal to go onto the SM-13 and collect data from the blood ocean. He doesn’t know the extent of what that means until it’s too late.
Grace, formerly a scientist but now a criminal, was shunned from society for being a survivor of one of the greatest catastrophes since the Quiet Rapture. He decides to volunteer for a research mission to put good to his name.
They end up stuck together, untied only by a shared goal and a desire to survive. Things do not go smoothly aboard the Iron Lung.

Summary
Grace is transported to Iron Lung. A lot happens from there, and most of it involves Simon. Credits of inspiration to "The Great Tribulation" by aloremrem! It helped inspire the plot a smidgen bit, though most of the story is being pulled out of my ass as I go.

Summary
Whatever happened here was bad. Irrevocably, inexplicably, inarticulably bad in a way that the most basal parts of his being wants nothing more than to escape from. But Grace can't turn away.
After encountering what appears to be a last hoo-ra emergency mission attempt from Earth caught up in the Hail Mary's wake, Grace and Rocky discover a single, severely injured human being quite literally encased in what Grace can only describe as a crime scene. A horror movie. And when he wakes up? He's mad. Really mad. Talking to the walls mad. Now they have to figure out just where he came from and why. Things are further complicated when all the newcomer (Simon, they learn) can talk about is missing planets, haunted oceans, and non-existent space stations. That and the really weird data they've been picking up on.
Maybe part of solving that is, much to Rocky's enthusiasm; both Grace and Simon slowly realizing how lonely they are.Series
