Summary
After an accident left her comatose, Weiss' father bought the best robotics and medical prosthesis companies to incorporate into the Schnee Corp family, pushing medical prosthesis technology standards. Weiss, outfitted with a state-of-the-art new body became the living mascot for the Schnee Corp. Tired of being paraded about, tinkered with, upgraded, and being treated as nothing more than Schnee Corp property, she made a break for it, escaping with the aid of her sister, an underground robotics engineer. The two had been close before Weiss' accident, and all these years later, they're as close as ever, but some lines are hard to find and their relationship may be more than either of them initially intended once it's all laid out.

Summary
Between Adam's convincing and her own nervousness about coming out to anyone, Blake cut contact with her parents while away at college. After a couple of years of abuse, Adam left Blake shortly after she came out as a trans woman instead of staying a cis man, leaving her emotionally fragile and feeling alone. With a little encouragement from a friend, Blake finally reached out to her parents again wanting them to be at her graduation. Now that she's graduated, living at home, and reconnecting with her parents, her life is turning around. She's working through some of her traumas while her parents dote on her, she's feeling safe having her parents nearby, and everything is looking brighter. However, on New Year's Eve, her father's flight home from a business trip got delayed due to weather and she's left to try and get through the terror that is the celebratory fireworks with only her mother's help.

It is hard to be a teenager on the cusp of adulthood. Harder still when you've never had to figure out anything even resembling feelings or a normal life with normal concerns. Being half cat doesn't exactly help either.
It just might be that some innocent, heartfelt words just might make your next week something of a headache. And possibly, all the days after that as well.
(Takes place during the final chapters of the manga, and extends very slightly into times past it.)
