He has used to drink through the opinions.Then a stranger walks into the tavern with a sword Henry has never seen anything like, and for a few days, something is possible that Henry did not know he was missing.

Milan, 1490.
Henry has been a farrier on the Via dei Fabbri, for two years. He has found a kind of equilibrium. Then the horses he knows are requisitioned for a war he wants nothing to do with. He follows them, because the horses did not choose this and he can make a small difference, and that is the only reason he needs.
The Ligue de Cambrai's campaign against Venice will end at Agnadello on 14 May 1509. Henry knows what artillery does to horses. He goes anyway.
The story would be better if you read the first parts of the "Immortal Henry" series.

Summary
Southern France, 1453.
Constantinople has fallen, the world feels like it's ending, and Henry is crossing France on his way to Italy when he senses the buzz of another immortal.
The man who greets him calls himself Methos. Henry knows immediately that's a lie — he has heard that name before, given once, at parting, with no explanation.
You don't need to be familiar with the both fandom to enjoy the story. However, you would need to read the first parts of the series.

Somewhere else in the city, a very old man watches the whole thing from a careful distance and does what he can to make a problem smaller.
You don't need to be familiar with the both fandom to enjoy the story. However, it would be best to read the earlier parts of the Immortal Henry series.

Summary
Henry is immortal. He will have to learn to live properly with his grief, what he has done, what he has become, for many years leading up to our modern era. He will have many encounters throughout the ages and historical places he has traversed since his death at the Battle of Vitkov in 1420.
You don't need to be familiar with Highlander to enjoy this series, which focuses on Henry. Conversely, for those who don't know Henry, you can get to know him through his encounters with the immortals you do know.

Summary
Eight months after a motorcycle accident that left the black-sheep heir to Ronov Industries, Hans Capon, on crutches for good, his uncle Hanush has tried possibly everything to get the boy to be himself again. Nothing has worked, therapy sessions have been deserted, physio has been half-arsed, and even the joy of a fuck or a hunt doesn't spark life in young Capon's eyes anymore.
Hanush, desperate and running out of both options and time, contacts his old friend's son, the small-town mechanic wunderkind Henry Kovář. The offer is simple: Henry gets a job, booze money, and somewhere to stay when his landlord is being a bitch, and all he has to do in return is fix the family's cars (of which they have plenty) and keep an eye on the young heir before he does anything silly. Henry, freshly single and jobless, really has no choice but to accept.
A story about being fucked up, and then being slightly less fucked up, until you're not really fucked up anymore.
