Summary
“You don’t have to leave,” Makoto responds.
“I know,” Akihiko says, and he smiles before he straightens up. He sets a hand on Makoto’s head, ruffling the messy hair a little. “But you won’t hurt my feelings if you ask for the apartment to yourself for tonight. I know you don’t get that very often.”
Makoto’s face does something odd, fast enough that Akihiko isn’t able to parse what exactly is running through his head. He turns away and fidgets with a piece of his hair, so Akihiko moves to take his hand back from his partner’s head, only to stop when Makoto angles as if to lean after the touch. Slowly, Akihiko cards his gloved fingers back through Makoto’s bangs, drawing them away from his eyes and getting a better look at his expression. He does look exhausted, but it’s more than the standard tiredness that Akihiko had once gotten used to seeing on his face… Makoto’s lower lip is reddened from chewing on and he hasn’t met Akihiko’s eyes once since he opened the door.
His shoulders sag. “I don’t want to be alone,” Makoto mumbles.

Summary
Andrew Richter was one of the world's greatest tinkers, but he was also an isolated, lonely man. When it came time to give Dragon a social interface, he found himself hopelessly out of his depth. In the end, he just cobbled together a program that would allow Dragon to respond to prompts with the most relevant words and phrases according to her training data. Some kind of "large language model."
This had unintended consequences.

Summary
What if, instead of doubling down and saying "She deserved it" after killing Alexandria, something clicked in Taylor Hebert's head, and she said "I think I've done enough damage at this point"? Queen in Exile posits that, in such a scenario, Taylor might decide to remove herself from play, so to speak... by volunteering to be sent to the Birdcage.
