Summary
The uncomfortable truth is that Harry can understand why he did it, all of it. He understands perfectly that there have always been bigger concerns than one lonely, misused boy (or two) at stake, that there is a Greater Good here the man has always been striving toward since longer than Harry's been alive. He gets it.
That doesn't make it hurt any less. It doesn't mean that Harry can forgive him either.
It doesn't mean that he can take back the way it's already changed his relationship with the man he thought was supposed to be his prophesied enemy. Or that he would want to now even if he could.
Their destiny is not to destroy each other as he once believed, although it still could be. It's more complicated than that. Their destiny is to make their own destiny, together, or be torn apart by it. He knows which one he prefers.

Summary
It takes another minute for Harry’s head to clear up, for him to make sense of the expression he’s seeing because the man, Voldemort, his mortal enemy, has yet to move, his face frozen on that one expression.
It’s a cross-section of several emotions, to be exact. Bemusement, consternation, denial.
Yet should one look deeper into those red, red eyes, naked longing shines in them. It twists Harry’s stomach into knots.
Or: In which Voldemort discovers what Harry is when possessing him in the Ministry Atrium—that Harry belongs to him.

Summary
For each person, there’s another holding the other half of your soul. It was foretold in the legends after all, that a soul was split into two and each half given to a human. And they always find one another, in each and every lifetime. But sometimes, when a soul breaks, the connection is lost.
Harry is born with the ability to see souls and their connections to one another. In a world, ravaged by Voldemort's takeover and dictatorship, it's hard to take advantage of this ability since no one in power would ever listen to him. But it soon becomes evident that his ability to see souls may be the one thing to save Voldemort from his horcruxes and thus, Wizarding society as a whole from the incoming threat of the Muggles.

Harry’s summer takes a turn for the absurd all at once. He saves his cousin from dementors, Voldemort comes to his house, and he gets married all in the span of one night. He didn’t expect any of this to happen, has no idea what he’s going to tell his friends when they finally find out, and can’t believe why Voldemort—Tom—is doing all this just because of a stupid prophecy.
Who would ever take a prophecy seriously?

Harry is below average in almost every way, but that's alright. He doesn't need to be smart to support his father, the man-who-lived, with the one thing he excels at: healing injuries solely with the power of his mind.
Life might be a little dull, but Harry takes comfort in the sense of purpose he gets from healing his father's injuries.

Harry stares at him. “Okay.”
“What? No smart comeback?” Voldemort asks.
“I f*cking hate you, is that what you want? But I don’t want to leave this room.” Harry says. “You make my skin crawl, you’re grotesque, evil, vile, I cannot stand you, but I can’t leave you because I’ll come right f*cking back, some way, somehow, I will.”
Voldemort takes a seat on the edge of the bed. “I despise you, Potter.” He reaches out and touches one of Harry’s stitched cuts. It stings and Harry groans. “You will sleep here, in this bed. When you are well, you will go where I go and see what I see and we shall never separate.”

Death refuses to let her favourite Potter succumb to such a fate. Deciding that she owes him a debt, Harry Potter is unknowingly and unceremoniously dumped in the middle of another world.
His parents are alive.
And so is his soulmate.
He’s not the Boy-who-lived. Not anymore. But to Harry, that doesn’t mean anything. Just because this new world is one of peace for him specifically doesn’t mean the war brewing on the horizon is one he can sit out.

There's a buzz in his hand, hesitating as he grips his wand tightly. He glances back at Death's faceless figure, taking in deep breaths as he nods. Death hums once more, sounding quite proud and he's practically elated.
“You will know the word, little one… You've etched it into your soul without knowing.” Death chuckles, disappearing.
(Or, Death somehow makes Harry an academic maniac while the Dark Lord is just questioning how the boy-who-lived is a Gryffindor.)
