Summary
It's 1988 and Renee has just left Charlie with their child Bella. Devastated, he mourns by himself and has a near death experience in the woods. Miraculously saved by a mysterious force, he continues to protect Forks the best he can to distract himself from the tragedy of his life. One case in particular wracks his brain and sends him on a seemingly wild goose chase. Through his crime stopping he becomes close with the new town doctor, Carlisle Cullen, bonding over both of their wives leaving and having to find a new lease on life.
How will they grapple with their growing closeness? How will Charlie learn to live again after Renee leaving?

Summary
