Summary
When I was ten, I didn’t have many friends. The ones I did, I spent everyday playing with. It didn’t matter the game, just as long as I wasn’t alone.
I dreamed about my childhood a lot. I was ten and I was playing tag. I could never seem to remember the faces of my friends, though. I wanted to see them again, even if it was only a dream.
(Were these people really my friends? Nameless faces, shifting headaches, all of it was a dream I woke up from in the end, until I couldn’t wake up again.)

I opened my eyes, and I found my hands clasped in front of a makeshift shrine. It was to a god I didn’t know—some image of a spiked wheel with small, misshapen, wooden idols placed before it. Script reading “ad vitam aeternam” was poorly carved into a small plank laid in front.

Summary
Dick’s goal for Thanksgiving (code named Operation F.I.S.H.): A family outing to the aquarium.
It feels achievable - everyone has been getting along better lately, Jason is spiraling closer, Cass is coming home. But there is a lot of unspoken hurt in every direction, and Dick’s own position in the family is shakier than ever since Bruce returned.
If Dick wants to realize his dream of family bonding, there will have to be many painful conversations between all parties. Dick’s own secrets will need to surface, the ones he has long kept submerged, the ones he will fight to sink forever.
(Or: Where Bruce is just a bit darker, even less emotionally available, and treats everyone a little worse, and how they all fix their family anyway.)

Also a 10/10 on rating. Even more actually. Maybe things aren’t fixed, but we’ll get there. I appreciate the hidden thought, the restrained hurt behind every word. No one gets through a conversation unscathed, and it is exactly what they don’t say that hurts the most. People act as people outside of the narrative, and they can be selfish. That’s human. It’s all so human.

The vivid clarity of the world around himself, draped in a dark cloak of night that his enhanced eyes saw through as if it were but a thin sheet; the crisp autumn air tickling the inside of his nostrils with such saturation that it almost felt like he could taste the coming winter on the tip of his tongue. The breeze that came from this altitude tickled his bare skin, and despite its ineffectual chill against his strengthened flesh, goosebumps climbed up his neck from the tactile sensitivity he bore against its breath.
Everything felt so real, realer and fresher than it'd ever been. If that made sense, which it probably didn’t.
His senses then were just so alive that he didn’t think he could recall a time he’d ever been so… aware, of everything.
Toji fucking Fushiguro. Who would've guessed. In the middle of Shibuya too, like, really?
