Did I ever mention I hate large hostile creatures? Well, life never had any qualms about drenching me in things I hate. And I'm literally drenched right now. That sometimes happens when you get eaten.

Do You Ever Get Fed (up) with Mistakes? by Paskuda_Lynx for Gasmeros

Summary
What can spice up a planetary survey better than your usual large predatory fauna? Why, how about a considerable amount of small invertebrate fauna covering everything on sight with sticky fibrils - including the lenses of drones that give you sight to begin with?
Also some idiot had failed to load the additional crate of resupply fluids for the MedSys that the PresAux survey had specifically requested.
All in all, not a great day to be Murderbot. Though not the worst one, either.

Summary
The recording starts in a wave of noise interference and a rhythmic sound of what was presumably running machinery on worksite. Then - unintelligible through the artifacts of the recording - vocalization from several people, arguing about something, trying to overshout the equipment. The noise suddenly levels out, leaving only some grounding thumps and hissing on the background.
Then someone begins singing.

Murderbot is rented by a Mysterious Client and tries to figure out what/who exactly is behind HubSys while also navigating a deadly cave system.

Bookmarker's Notes
>[I have carefully crafted all of your new programing. You will not touch any of it.]
>It continued on, daring to sound dismissive at my attempts of altering my vision. Before I could stop myself, I said;
>[Fuck you.]
>I put as much force as I could behind it. But I realized it would feel like a single molecule of water compared to the vast ocean. I could still feel it lingering over me. Baring down on me, heavier than any other system I had been a part of.
>That pissed me off more. What, was it trying to spook me? Make me submit to its will with scare tactics? HubSys doesn’t threaten. The governor module doesn’t threaten.
>I bundled up my most recent memories of my governor module punishments and threw it at the entity around me. It was a pathetic fucking pitch, but if it was going to kill me for being rogue it should just fucking do it instead of playing with me. -

"Is this about their latest SecUnit rescue subject?" ART asked. Nosy fucker; I should have known it would have bullied the other bot pilot for details.
"SecUnit extraction," I corrected, to be pedantic. Or is it pediatric? Whatever, I wasn't going to ask.
"So it is about that project?" ART plowed forward. "I am not surprised they want your input. You are one of the more valuable information sources they have."
"I just feel like they're setting themselves up for failure," I admitted. "Their newly freed SecUnits keep trying to self-destruct."
There was a .5 second pause. In the feed, it felt like an eternity. "I see," ART said, not sounding so smug anymore. "Yes, that is distressing."
.
Or, the first (sort of) organized suicide prevention effort for SecUnits.Bookmarked by Paskuda_Lynx

Bookmarker's Notes
>I know, ART said churlishly, and it squeezed me harder in the feed, just for .24 of a second, not long enough to hurt, just long enough to crush the air out of me. It made me feel like the toy fauna that Farai had procured for Sofi when she was having trouble sleeping. If it had been real and not a toy, Sofi would have strangled the life out of that thing. Weirdly, I didn’t hate the feeling.

Bookmarker's Notes
>I set up a routine to continue the stupid argument and sent Three the code. In ART’s channel with Three, where ART had been quietly stewing since we boarded (That’s not true. It was very loud about its stewing, I was just really good at ignoring it.) I said, [ART, is there a way to put Aperture and this fucking thing on a deserted supply run where they encounter zero humans?]
>[As the head of the SecUnit Integration Program, you have the ability to alter our assignments in the best interest of the SecUnit Program.] ART replied.
>I had to replay that. Twice. [I’m the fucking what? Who approved that?]
>The head of the intelligent ship program was very impressed by your application.
>[I never fucking…] I stopped myself. I could deal with that later. [How do I change the Aperture’s assignment?]
>ART forwarded a form to my feedspace. It was completely filled out, including my feed signature. Huh. I guess that’s how Mensah feels when I fill out requisition forms for her. -

Perihelion is the most varied character in terms of how fans visually depict it, from starfields to angels to boat-like spacecraft. Here are the trends I've found in a sample of 251 fanART posts.

Bookmarker's Notes
>In conclusion, the average Perihelion is a spaceship ripped straight from the Artificial Condition cover that occasionally is also a tiny floating gray dome with thin limbs and camera for a face. Its feed presence is a cluster of cornflower blue and grayscale pixels that shapeshift between a human with no shirt, no shoes, and no face, a biblically accurate dragon with a million eyes, and an endless starry ocean. Or at least that’s what it is based on the images I gathered and my own judgement.
