They go together like water and oil.
Vince is a food snob, despite his general lack of interest in aspects other than cooking. Rody has eaten food off the floor, and would again.
Vince is cool and calm when it comes to most things, the only time Rody has seen him express anything other than exasperation being- once again- matters of the kitchen. Rody wears his heart on his sleeve, laughing loudly when he’s happy, and making a mess of his face and shirt when he cries.
Vince is clearly not hurting for money, and probably never has in his life. Rody is holding on by a shoelace, his work ethic affording him only the smallest of comforts; a bike, and a place to lay his head.They can’t be any less alike.

Unless, of course, he goes back and asks to be hired again.Though of course, Rody did not expect a full dinner service on a day the restaurant has to stay closed due to a flooding.
(Yes, the dinner is sex. Rody's had enough of bitter Vince cooking for a lifetime.)

It’s been two months since the storm, and Childe hasn’t seen Zhongli not even once, not since that fateful meeting with the Signora where the truth is finally unveiled.
And what a fun little kick to the gut that is, the realization that not only had he been played by all sides, but he's also being tossed aside like trash now that his use had run its course.
It’s not that Childe doesn’t get it. He’s a Harbinger. He knows first-hand what it means to do his duty, to put the mission first and his personal feelings far, far away, preferably locked up in a box, where it wouldn’t interfere with his job. He knows what it’s like working with vipers, to scheme and plot and lie in wait for the opportune moment to stab his opponent in the back.
But this time, this time Childe can’t help but feel a little (a lot) gutted.
Stupid. He’s gotten himself stupidly attached.
