But Stede’s latest book and unexpected hit, Crossing Swords with the Pirate Captain, is being turned into a movie and his favourite actor, Ed Teach, has asked to audition for the lead role.
Action hero Ed Teach is sick of the grind and performative masculinity that the action genre, and his agent Izzy, demand. He wants to branch out, he wants to come out and auditioning for the romantic lead in a film about gay pirates feels like the perfect way to do that.
