“You got a cat?” Crowley’s mobile mouth worked, his lips pulling back in apparent distaste. “Have you forgotten about me and cats? Cats and me, more like. You know cats don’t like me!”
”Quite, I do recall, although I don’t think that occasion was necessarily indicative of how every cat might feel! And regardless.” Aziraphale straightened his shoulders and lowered his tone by at least an octave. “I did not get a cat. It simply… happened by. And,” he continued in a rush, his voice rising again, “it was raining, and cold, and she’s expecting….”

Until, with what would have been a deafening screech if only there had been someone with the ability to hear it, the last electron-proton pair slammed the brakes to a halt.
