i'm real bad at descriptions, so here's a snippet:

Hobie turned around lazily, and met the eyes of a teenage girl. A real tired-lookin’ one. She had eyebags and unevenly cropped hair, and looked at him like he was a petulant child.
He paused, and stared at her as she stared at him. He placed a hand on the jar and tilted it, sloshing around the liquid inside.
“This is what the supercollider uses, amiright?”
“Why do you wanna know?”
“Jus’ wanna know. One of the main thing about being a spiderperson is being smart and informed or wha’ever.”
“Then why are you stealing right from my lab with a camera, right there?”

“Peni!!” the other girl looked ecstatic, eyes bright, but red-rimmed with strain. She was in full costume, sans the mask. It’d been through some changes and there was an ugly bruise all across her left cheek. Her hairstyle was roughly the same, and looked shiny and soft. Sound flooded her ears as the headset fell down around her neck.
Peni embraced back on impulse, squeezing hard for how un-powered her limbs were, bringing them close enough for her to bury her head into the other girl’s shoulder for much longer than she expected to be allowed.
