And it’s finally quiet, in the hospital. Dark enough without the overhead lights that the entire wing feels calm and his body doesn’t twitch uncomfortably at the constant surveillance he’s under during the day. It’s quiet, and he’s alone.
Every day that he’s been out of surgery, that’s about the moment Izuku shows up.
He’s less and less unprepared for the sound of his door being opened at this hour, the mechanical click from the handle and the heavy, low squeak of the panel shifting slowly ajar. It’s been about a week, now. Even the first time, Katsuki had a hard time feeling the shock he tells himself he maybe should have.
Instead, like every other time, he feels relief.

“Izuku, you want to call Tenya-kun and ask him to knock me up?” Ochako questions, shaking her head. “He'd never do it, and we'd get some sort of scolding for being irresponsible. Shouto-kun might, but it'd be out obligation to us as friends. You know he doesn't want to father any children... I don't know who we'd trust that much...”
A silence fells over their bedroom as one more person occurs to Izuku. It's a rather obvious omission of a male friend close enough to both of them could possibly do this for them. Izuku knows why Ochako might want to not mention him, but Izuku can already see Ochako's struggling to stay lucid with the quirk buzzing through her body.
“Kacchan.”

“Katsuki,” Masaru asks, a little more desperately now, “Your new friend…is he…a dragon?”
Katsuki looks up from the loot bag he’s busy stuffing with bits of jade and malachite and massive, rare green sapphires and scoffs.
“Of course not,” he says, looking smug and pleased, “He’d make a terrible dragon. Deku’s my unicorn, he's way better like that, we’re gonna go on adventures together now.”
He takes his sack of loot to his room and calls.
“I wanna look through the rest of your junk later, it’s not as lame as I thought, okay?”
Mitsuki hears the door slam and turns to her mate in shock.
“A unicorn.” She mumbles.
“At least it’s not a human,” he says faintly.
Or- Izuku and Katsuki meet as children. They couldn’t be more different, or more similar either!

Izuku was an alpha, the king and his people’s protector—so how was it that his daughter was kidnapped? How was it that the one person that’s most precious to him in the entire world was taken right from under his nose?
A dragon. A goddamned dragon took her when she was playing in the gardens with her maid. It’s Izuku’s fault for not making sure the nanny was reminded of the week it was. They knew the dragons would pass by, they knew that they needed to remain inside, but some failed. And those, like his daughter’s nanny—and by consequence, his daughter—were taken.
But what Izuku never expected was for a different dragon—or rather one of the Dragon Kin—to be the one to sign up.

One night he meets a pretty man in a fox mask, and suddenly he's not so eager to leave again.
Or four times Izuku meets Kacchan for just one night at the Midsummer Festival, and one time things go a little differently.

Katsuki’s lip quirked, and Izuku prayed very hard for Nana-sama to lightning strike him into ash.
Izuku’s shoulders sagged. “My Okami—”
“—Is still atrocious.” Katsuki smirked, clearly revelling in the shock on Izuku’s face.
Izuku and Katsuki weren't meant to become close. They weren't even really meant to meet. The differences between their clans — and the significant language barrier between them — should have ensured that.
But nobody has ever needed perfect grammar to fall in love anyway.

Katsuki remembers it, vaguely; they’d gone out for patrol and immediately gotten mobbed by Uwabami’s rabid fans. Some guy asked for a hug. He had most of his face covered, and he wouldn’t let go even though Uwabami kept telling him to stop. Yaoyorozu had seen it and Katsuki had stepped in, yanking him off Uwabami but the guy grabbed him instead and-
“Wait,” he says as his brain catches up with his ears. “What?”
“He tried to attack Uwabami,” says Kestrel patiently. “But you and Bakugou got in the way and-”
“Me and Bakugou?” says Katsuki, digging his ears. “I’m Bakugou.”
(Katsuki and Momo get bodyswapped during their internship. It's terrible. Partly because of the weird new jiggly bits, but mostly because Momo now has to deal with Katsuki's giant, nauseating crush on Izuku Midoriya.
And Katsuki, unfortunately, has to deal with fucking Todoroki.)
