His homeroom teacher and mentor are standing expectantly on his doorstep. Mr. Aizawa looks like he’d rather be anywhere else, and All Might’s expression is a strange combination of amusingly-awkward-grin and I-just-ate-a-spoonful-of-salt.
“Young Midoriya,” All Might waves cheerfully. “We’re here about U.A.’s newly implemented dormitory policies following… the recent events. Is your mother around?”
And… well, shit, because how is he supposed to break it to them that his mother has been rotting in the earth for four years and that he’s been forging government documents for three?

Shouta was about to refute that with Izuku walked back in. “Sorry about that, I just… got offered a job?”
“What?” both Hizashi and Shouta asked at the same time.
“Yeah, apparently I’d be great as a substitute teacher for a hero class, while waiting for the real teacher to recover,” Izuku said. “Nedzu is offering me a temporary job as your sub, Shouta."
