Scott was still breathless from laughter as Owain approached him to thank him for joining in. “Hey, what was your last name again?” the knight asked offhandedly. “Gold... Something? Smith? Spring...?”
The blond elf shook his head in amusement. “Springwell,” he corrected.
“Ah, of course, of course,” Owain said quickly, and then he was off again, headed for the stage to make a few more remarks.
Scott sat in his chair, one elbow on the table, and an odd sound started ringing in his ears. “Gold... Smith,” echoed in his mind. “Goldsmith. Scott Goldsmith...”

Summary
A month after overcoming his demonic curse, Avid is ready to rejoin the ranks of the undead in NYC with Scott, Shelby, Drift, and Owen. He's excited, but everyone else is more nervous. Scott wants everything to go perfectly right while navigating their new relationship that never got to develop before. Shelby is coming to terms with having her close friend alive again and all the changes the last few weeks have brought. Drift is excited to have Avid part of the coven again, but she's concerned about tensions flaring from the interactions between the new people. Elle tries to reconcile her views on vampires with Avid's desire to become one. Abolish just hates the new load of paperwork on his desk.
This work is an epilogue to "Bicentennial Revamp", and it is highly recommended that you read that first! The circumstances may not make sense otherwise.
