Katsuki grabbed him, which freaked Izuku out. An understandable response, because the few times he and Katsuki had some type of physical contact it ended with him being thrown either into something hard, like cement, or into the air where he eventually rocketed into cement.
So while it was nice…of Katsuki to hug him? Izuku really wanted distance for his physical and mental well being, oh, and his big fat, gross monster crush. That too.

“Yes!” Deku exclaims immediately, shoving her microphone and notebook into her shitty coworker’s hand before he can even get a word out and possibly shoving him backwards a little bit for good measure, “I am totally free right now, I’ll clock in for my break right this second!”
Katsuki does her best not to let her smirk or confidence falter at the magnitude of Deku’s excitement or her bright grin, easily distracted from fantasies about shoving the cameraman’s face into the dirt. “Great,” she says, mischievous smile forming on her lips, “I’ll be your ride.”

“I was thinking about making chocolate,” he smiled sheepishly.“What the fuck? Why? You can’t cook on a good day and chocolate is actually really hard to make,” he glared at the boy next to him. He knows why. Valentine’s day is in two weeks.
“Because,” he shrugs, “I had plans for-” he clears his throat. “ I just thought maybe I’d do something nice for that person.”
Katsuki doesn’t like the way those words made him feel. Something slimy and thick crawled through his veins digging up tendrils of that old rage.
“Tch,” he crosses his arms and scoots away from where they were pressed together. “It’s a fucking stupid holiday. I don’t know why you would want to celebrate it.”
A flash of hurt in Deku’s eyes is quickly covered up by that glint of rage Katsuki likes so much, “Not all of us are destined to be alone our whole lives.”
Or Izuku and Katsuki are terrible at expressing their feelings but it's okay because chocolate is a universal love language
