As a reference the Blip happens prior to the Black Widow movie and before the events of Hawkeye. Because Natasha is alive and the timeline, Yelena never went after Clint to kill him thus never met Kate. She would be okay with the idea of a friend, if she was not sure that her entire world would come to an end if she lost Kate Bishop. Because Yelena always loses the people who matter most.
Or: glimpses in time that span across many months of Yelena pining for Kate. I gave Yelena her own pov and we're hanging on for the ride.
