    Summary

After dying at Ashford Meadow, Baelor Breakspear should have remained in the grave.

Instead, he wakes in a forest clearing in modern-day Sweden on the day of Midsummer, far from his realm, far from his century, and impossibly alive. There, he is found by Vinga: a woman of the modern world whose life is about to become bound to his in ways neither of them yet understands.

But Baelor’s return is no accident. The realm he left behind was never truly saved. Can Baelor and Vinga save it?

The Light That Returned is a long-form, long-running story of resurrection, fate, prophecy, love, myth, magic, and second chances—a rewrite of both the Dunk and Egg era and Game of Thrones, where old tragedies are not the final word, and the light may yet return to a realm that has forgotten what saved it once before.

Featuring Baelor, Vinga, and, in time, characters from across the wider Targaryen and Game of Thrones canon (because yes, I am still salty about that ending).

Pairings, tags, and warnings will be updated as the story expands.

    Updates on Thursdays and Sundays.

    Summary

Baelor Targaryen is a man forged in duty, responsibility, and honour. He is the embodiment of his father's political legacy— a bridge that unites a realm steeped in war and chaos. It was not for a man like him to be so entranced by someone whose loyalties were not bound to him. After all, a King ought to know that love was the death of duty, the bane of honour. And yet, Baelor finds himself asking— what is duty without love? Was honour not another expression of love?

    Summary

A plane crash was a statistical anomaly, surviving one even more so. The odds were microscopic, laughable in their improbability. And yet Dr. Anicia Morrone had survived, defying mathematics and mortality alike, only to wake in a world infinitely crueler than the one she had left behind.

This was not Alice in Wonderland, oh no, this was Anicia in the depths of Hades’ own imagining... though even that comparison felt generous. Hades, at least, had rules. Westeros had ambition.

She had intended to live quietly, to endure and adapt, to carve out a small and careful existence in a world that was not her own. But fate, it seemed, had little interest in her caution. Other plans were already in motion, threads that would entangle not only her own precarious survival, but the future of the realm itself.

And, most dangerously of all, a certain prince — heir to the Iron Throne…. none other than Prince Baelor Breakspear.

    Summary

In 196 AC, Lord Elmure Tully fielded a blow in the Redgrass Field that would have cost Prince Baelor Targaryen his leg, if not his life. Ten years later, the Targaryen dynasty rewards this loyalty by proposing a match between Elmure's eldest daughter, Maeve, and the widowed Prince Maekar.

But Maeve, whose blood has always run hot, finds the constraints of her new life in the Red Keep stifling, her stepchildren odd and antisocial, and her new husband strangely hesitant to frequent her bed. How lucky, then, that gallant Prince Baelor seems so fond of her...

It's only an innocent friendship. What could go wrong?

    Summary

The Maesters always wrote it like this:

“In 209 AC an unknown fighter entered the arena to help a hedge knight defend his honor. However what the gathered champions didn’t realize; was that it wasn’t a man at all that came to their aid, but a noble lady disguised.”

But the actual tale (and what followed after) was far more heart wrenching.
