Summary
Jaskier finds himself trapped between the world of the living and the dead, with no memories of how it happened. He has no choice but to follow his Witcher guide to Kaer Morhen, the keep of the Lord of the Dead, where Jaskier must remain until either his soul returns to his body, or he passes on.
At first, being confined to Kaer Morhen is the worst fate Jaskier can imagine, but he soon learns the Underworld, and its god, are nothing like the tales paint them. The longer he remains, the more he begins to wonder if staying would be so terrible after all.

Lambert doesn’t like being touched.
He has trained himself over decades to tolerate contact with his brothers, but anyone else gets sharp words, or even sharper (and occasionally poisoned) blades.
Then Geralt says he’s bringing his godsdamned handsy bard to Kaer Morhen, and Lambert’s sure that even with ample forewarning, accidental touching is inevitable. It’s going to make the winter feel miserably long, and Lambert knows for a fact that he’s going to hate every second of it.

Summary
A Witcher's enhanced sense of smell tells them more about the world (and the people in it) than humans could ever dream of. Thus far, it has mostly served Lambert in looking out for his brothers, and avoiding lying assholes (or pointing those lying assholes out for a beating, depending on Geralt's current orders).
When a stranger named Jaskier saves Lambert from a horrifically painful end, Lambert has no idea what to make of him, even with the help of his nose. He finds himself worrisomely obsessed with learning more about the bard. The more Lambert learns, the harder he falls, until he knows he'll do anything to stay at Jaskier's side.
Even if it means doing something Witchers never do - getting married.

Blowing out the candle by the bed leaves them in almost complete darkness, the rain smattering hard against the window, wind howling around the corners of the building. All things considered, it is worth it.
Geralt lies facing Jaskier, hands tucked under his cheek, watching him through the darkness. He wonders if Jaskier knows that he can see him, watch him back. Probably not.
“I’m sorry for dragging you into this,” he says quietly, and Jaskier waves a hand dismissively between them.
“Got a roof over our heads. What are some fake sex noises between friends anyway?”
It’s funny, but it twists something in his chest.OR; this author imagined what it would be like to be on the recieving end of a hickey, especially if you were pining your ass off after the one giving it, but pretending not to.

Of course, the first thing that comes to Geralt's mind is claiming Jaskier cannot be married because he's already married-- to Geralt. Jaskier and Geralt will have to maintain the ruse as they travel with Jaskier's father to get as proof a copy of their marriage certificate... which doesn't exist.

Geralt turned to him, frowning. "I’d have a room to myself, right?"
"Of course!" Jaskier waggled his eyebrows. "I have a lovely little place with three rooms, plenty of space for brooding. And, I’d much rather you be warm and comfortable than, say, half-dead in the snow." He grinned. "Besides, I wouldn’t want a beta like yourself dealing with my rut."
Geralt exhaled sharply. A beta, huh? Good. The last thing he needed was more questions.
"I expect privacy," Geralt muttered.
"But of course!" Jaskier sang, already turning toward the road ahead.
Geralt groaned, rubbing a hand over his face. He didn’t have many options.
"Fine," he said finally. "Oxenfurt it is.”(TLDR: Geralt is an omega, and becomes addicted to Jaskier's scent.)

Didn’t want to break him, not completely. But the thought of hurting him – scratching his surface, making him splinter just a little… it made his blood boil.

When an assassin attacks Jaskier, it stirs up fantasies of violence in Geralt. To keep the brutal new imaginings in check, the Witcher distances himself from his lover, but of course Jaskier is not having it.
