“Aye?” Simon was looking at him like he was fuckin' stupid, like this had been obvious all long. “Ae course.”

Set two years after T-2, Mark and Simon have been living together in semi-domestic bliss. Simon runs the pub and Mark does the accounts. After a custody battle, they've been minding Simon's eleven year old son Ben for one weekend every month. They go on holiday...you know how this one goes.
Canonical to Men in Love by Irvine Welsh, but set after T-2 rather than Porno. I took some creative liberty with their ages because I wanted Ben to be young still, so Simon and Mark are 37. It's 2018.

Summary
Set in the Skagboy era, when the lads are in rehab, and based on the few scenes where Simon comes into Renton's room to rant about the therapist and looking for reassurance in a roundabout way that he's normal and not "sexually dysfunctional."
One of the sessions gets a little too painful for Simon, and confused and emotionally dysregulated - he finds himself in Renton's room and then in his bed, looking for comfort.
Can be read as platonic or slash.
