The bass thumped through the floorboards, a visceral pulse that vibrated up through Samira’s heels. Jack’s hand was a firm, possessive anchor on the small of her back, guiding her through the sweaty, undulating crowd of the dimly lit club. Bodies moved everywhere, not just to the music. A woman was bent over a pool table, her skirt hiked up as a man took her from behind, their motions a lazy, rhythmic counterbeat to the DJ’s mix. Nobody glanced twice. This was just a Tuesday night.
“They’re over there,” Jack murmured, his lips close to her ear, his breath hot. His fingers slid down to squeeze her ass through the thin fabric of her dress. “Ready to be a good girl for me?”
Samira’s throat felt tight. Ready? She wasn’t sure. She didn’t exactly agree, but she didn’t disagree either. A nervous flutter tickled her stomach, a mix of dread and a dark, curious thrill she hated herself for feeling.Series
